Meet Marketing Director Bill Burton
Bill Burton joined the Persimmon Woods Golf Club staff in February 2009. A lifelong St. Louisan, Bill has been around the game of golf for much of his life.
Bill played high school (St. Louis U. High) and college golf (Spring Hill College, Park University-Kansas City), then began a career in golf promotion and administration, first at the Journal Newspapers, and more recently at the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association and Gateway PGA.
He has contributed articles and information to media outlets such as the Post-Dispatch, Suburban Journals, PGA Magazine, Fairways and Greens, Ladue News, and has made frequent appearances on radio shows such as The Back Nine, Fairways and Greens and the KMOX Golf Show with Dan Reardon.
Bill and his wife, Dr. Mary Burton, have two children, Erin and Brian.
"Since I first played the course nearly a decade ago, I immediately realized Jeff Whitfield, Gabby Haenssler, Gregg Eisenberg and the ownership group had worked with a great, young architect in Keith Foster to create something special in this market. Persimmon Woods was not only challenging and scenic, it was a lot of fun to play. The more opportunities I had to come back, the more I liked the course.
"I welcome others to come out and see for themselves what is truly one of the top courses in Missouri."
